Fiumicno Covid Test Times

We have a 11:55 flight back to the US on 24 September. We went through the testing in June at FCO, and we found it simple and not so time consuming (30 minutes total). We were thinking about getting tested at the Red Cross Termini site, but the lines both days have been soooo long. We want to stay in Rome our last day as long as we can, so we’d like to test in the morning before our 11:55 flight. Can anyone give us a heads up on testing lines and length of time for process in the morning? We’d tested at 14:00 the last time , and it wasn’t that busy. We don’t want any surprises when we show up. Thanks!

Do I need a test? (<36h stay)

Hello,

I will arrive in Malpensa ar 1 o’clock in the morning and will have my flight to my home country on the same day, at 21:00 but from Bergamo.

In this case, some arr saying that for less than 36h of stay I do not need to make any test, just to fill that passegner form.

My stay in Italy it’s even less than 24h. Do I really need a test? My airline told me to check the country official information sources, but there isn’t specified at transit section if I need to stay in the same airport or not. It’s just about those 36h.

Thank you!

How long does it take to get through customs?

I'm curious with any additional Covid-related steps needed after we land to get through customs... how long does it take to get through customs now?

I booked a Delta "Covid Tested" flight from Atlanta to Rome (FCO), and we're landing on a Wednesday morning at 7:45am.

The reason why I ask: we're planning to go straight to Sorrento via train, and want to book train tickets in advance. Wondering how much time we should plan between landing at FCO and getting on the train. FCO > Roma Termini > Napoli > Sorrento

Covid Still Out There

To all you travelers heading to Italy: even if you are vaccinated, many here are not. Keep your anti-Covid practices in place. Inquire in advance with your lodging as to their anti-Covid practices and vaccination status. Do the same with your private driver(s).

I made a quick first-time overnight side trip to Capri yesterday only to be told this morning that one of the guests who occupied my room before me and who checked out just before I checked in yesterday subsequently tested positive for Covid this morning. Even though I am fully vaccinated (Pfizer; jabs on April 2 and 23) I am now in isolation at my original hotel after undergoing a test today (negative) and have been advised I should remain here at least until another test is performed after a few days.

Don’t let your guard down now. The bastard is still out there and you may be subject to isolation if you are possibly exposed.

Covid tests at Catania airport/return flight home 22/9/21

Could any travelers familiar with covid testing near Catania historical city center or Catania airport share their resources with me? I haven’t made last 2 nights in Catania as of yet. Since, I’m still exploring options that would allow me to enjoy the city as well as be centrally located to bus/shuttle transport to airport and covid testing site. ThankYou so much!

Catania Hotel or BnB .. early flight 6:35am

Greetings

I’m seeking recommendation for my last 2 nights which will be in Catania. Unfortunately my flight was already canceled once by Delta. Therefore the only flight out to Rome is KLM, ticket already purchased.

I’m looking for an accommodation that would be feasible to explore Catania historic city center as well as be able to get to airport in time fir 6:35 departure. In USA it’s recommended to be at airport now 3 hrs preflight. I’m not sure how it works in Sicily? So any hotel resources or airport support direction greatly appreciated .

ThankYou for any feedback in advance.

Molecular/ PCR/ antigen tests

I have a flight to Rome in a couple weeks on United. The website states I need a Molecular/PCR/Antigen test done 48 hrs prior. Silly question but does that mean I can get a rapid test? I’m just so nervous that they won’t take the results and I’ll be denied going.

Is there time for a rapid covid test at FCO terminal?

We have an 8 am flight FCO to LHR booked.LHR requires a covid test 1-3 days before arrival. Will we have time after checkin to get the termal 3 20 rapid Covid test? Getting the test right at FCO would be easist for us. Looks like they test between 0000 and 1400.

Advice for a month-long visit?

We had a short stay in Modena a few years ago, and we (American couple in their 60’s) decided we wanted to go back and stay a month.

We plan to rent an apartment and spend our days exploring. Hoping to find a nice market and buy fresh food to make some of our own meals, but want to try a lot of restaurants, bars and coffee shops.

We could rent a car, but haven’t decided on that - we’re thinking bicycles and walking and busses or trains for most of the stay.

Any advice? We’re thinking May/June, but are flexible.

10 days in NW Sicily - itinerary

Dear all,

Would you please help me with itinerary for 10 days trip to Sicily, this June?

My former plan was for second half of June with return in beg. of July, flight to Palermo, leave from Catania, and stay in Palermo (visit Monreale, Cefalu), Agrigento, Modica (visit Ragusa), Siracuse and Taormina, 16-18 days.

But now I can't stay until the end of June, I don't want to go in July or August as it will be too hot for sightseeing, so I am trying to find some shorter version. I was more interested in eastern part (baroque towns, Ortigia and Taormina), but as there aren't direct flights until July, I am thinking about visiting Palermo, and stay on some nice beach for few days. There are direct flight to Trapani, so start and end there.

I am traveling with almost 3 yo (with stroller and baby carrier), and only by public transport. I wanted to see Palermo, so I would keep this from former plan, but I don't know where to go next, for 3/4 nights.

1 Trapani (morning flight), move to Palermo, afternoon in Palermo

2 Palermo

3 Palermo, half day trip Monreale

4 Palermo, day trip Cefalu

5 Palermo, day trip Agrigento (not sure with this, as it is quite a long time in train there and back)

6, 7, 8, 9 ? (last day move to Trapani, overnight before flight from there)

10 Trapani (morning flight)

I have found only an afternoon bus from Trapani airport to Palermo, so we have to go to city, and take a bus to Palermo from there?

I have read here in forum about Castellammare del Golfo, and it looks nice. Is there a good connection between Palermo - Castellammare and Castellammare and Trapani?

If I stay close to, I would also like to visit Zingaro reserve, I found that it is open again, but it seems that only way to go there is by privat car, or taxi - or is there some option via public transport? If taxi - how much, and is it possible to book one with car seat? Would it be better to stay in San Vito de Capo, or Scopello, for Zingaro visit? And last - 3yo may walk or be in baby carrier, baby stroller is useless in Zingaro (coastal way)?

Or do you have another idea for coastal town, with nice architekture, and beaches nearby?

Many thanks, Katjes

Entering Italy from Portugal, later entering Greece

In mid-September, we are flying from Boston to Lisbon to Rome landing early in the morning in Lisbon and flying to Rome several hours later. I think I need to fill out the PLF twice, once before our flight to Portugal and once before the flight to Italy. Is that the way it works? I know we also need a COVID test to enter Portugal. We were both completely vaccinated four months ago and have our CDC cards. Three days after entering Italy we will fly to Greece. We need another PLF to fly to Greece right? As of now, Greece does not require a test for those entering Greece from Italy, right? Thanks.
