Be careful US citizens

Some media are reporting the possibility of EU travel ban for US citizens.

We are scheduled to travel to Italy on 19 Aug from USA.

How likely do you think it is that Italy will ban US visitors by then? Do you think that fully vaccinated visitors from US would be allowed, or is it likely to be a complete ban for all?

I know that no one knows at this point, so I am just asking for speculation.

My husband and I are vaccinated US citizens and have been traveling around for several weeks now. We started in Greece, then made our way to Romania last Monday. We will be heading to Rome on Wednesday. We know US tourists can travel to Italy for tourist reasons now (until July 30th?), but we want to clear up any possible issues in being in both Greece and Romania recently.

On the US embassy website (https://it.usembassy.gov/covid-19-information/), it points out two forms I think we have to fill out before entry: this self declaration form (https://www.esteri.it/mae/resource/doc/2020/08/modulo_rientro_da_estero__26_08_20_inglese.pdf) and this EU digital passport locator form (https://app.euplf.eu/#/).

My questions a

1) Do we still have to fill out these forms if we are coming from the EU (Romania)?

2) Does the self declaration form need to be printed off and filled out? Or can we fill it in as a PDF on a computer and save it to show at the airport?

3) How soon will these forms need to be filled out? I know that in Greece the PLF needed to be filled out more than 24 hours before the flight. Is that the case with these forms?

4) Is the "until July 30, 2021" date just a precaution in case cases spike again? Like is it likely they will just extend this deadline, or will we more likely need to make our way out on the 30th?

5) Is there anything else I am missing? I know we got stamped in and out of Greece/Romania because Romania isn't part of the Schengen area; are there any other issues with entering back into the Schengen area?

Thanks in advance for the help! We are used to traveling quite a bit pre-covid and only worrying about visas; covid adds a whole new stress.

If you are planning on traveling on a COVID tested flight ticketed by Delta: the DL website is pretty thorough with info and steps to take regarding advance PCR tests and day of departure procedures. Beware… rapid-result PCR tests are not cheap. IME the cost can range from USD 150 to USD 300+

I know i am early especially with Covid, but we are hoping to visit in third week of Feb 2022 to Italy, we have about ten days. Visiting from Vancouver, Canada.

We have only been to Rome 25 years ago, this time we hope to visit Florence, Pisa and Venice. We would like to drive ( five adults ), because we would like to include smaller pretty towns along the way between cities. is this a good idea or would train be more convenient? The weather seems wet but this is the only time we have and we thought Italy being south might be a better choice than some other european countries?

Any advice, comment, recommendation will be much appreciated.

Italian Media is now reporting that Public Health Minister Roberto Speranza has just signed a new Decree which EXTENDS THE BENEFITS OF THE EUROPEAN DIGITAL COVID CERTIFICATE (GREEN PASS) TO RESIDENTS OF THE UNITED STATES, CANADA AND JAPAN, meaning that they will be allowed entry into Italy for any reason by satisfying any one of the following conditions:

1. 15 days after the first dose of an approved Covid-19 vaccine; or

2. Having proof of having recovered from Covid-19; or

3. Having a negative molecular or antigenic Covid-19 test result performed no more than 48 hours prior to entry.

VISITORS FROM THE UNITED KINGDOM WILL NEED TO SELF-ISOLATE FOR 5 DAYS UPON ENTRY INTO ITALY, REGARDLESS OF TEST RESULTS.

When I found out that Italy would be open to Americans on covid-tested flights I was so excited that I booked a ticket using my eCredit for October. Little did I know that the flights had to be marked covid-tested on Delta's website, which this one wasn't. Yesterday I looked at the website only to find flights marked covid-tested on the very day I'm leaving. I called Delta and the representative told me covid-tested flights aren't available yet. I said I was looking at one at that moment but she said she didn't have any available yet and to check back in July when the JFK-VCE route will be posted. I'm so confused! Does anyone have any insights? Thanks

Me and my friends (~8 people) are planning to visit Sicily from the last week of December until the first week of January.

We want to stay in a villa and not a hotel and because of the weather want to stay at the coast. Because of reasons we need to land at Catania so I searched around this region.

At the moment all the villas of interest are in the southern region of Sicily.

I have two questions:

Firstly, I would like to know a good area to spend new years. I read in earlier threads that Catania is reommended for the most lively time regarding new years eve.

Do you know how long public transport operates around this time? (we will most likely have a rental car but I guess on this day all want to have a drink) I have a hard time finding any information on public transport to be honest...

Also are private fireworks allowed ?

Maybe there is also a city nearer to the south you could recommend for new years eve ?

Secondly, I read in several threads that in the winter season some places aren't as busy so I just wanted to ask if the South region also has these problems (I'm talking about the Pozzallo and Santa Maria del Focallo area and maybe a little to the right and left of it since we have a car)

My husband and I are fully vaccinated US citizens who will be working remotely from Greece for about 16 days. We'd like to go to Italy afterwards (starting around July 6th), and I'm trying to understand the current regulations. Obviously we are not able to take a COVID-tested flight directly from the US (without a lot of unnecessary flying across the Atlantic!), but this page seems to suggest that we'd be okay to enter having spent at least two weeks in Greece, which is on List C:

"For all those who have stayed or transited in the fourteen days preceding entry into Italy in one or more of the States and territories referred to in List C..."

My interpretation is that regardless of citizenship, you are clear to enter Italy if you've spent at least two weeks in a List C country, with the requirement of a 48 hour COVID test. Is that correct?
