Bus ticket vilidation

Hey! Just got to Venice and I don't know how the bus works. I couldn't find a ticket machine and there was no way to get close to the driver because there was a chain. Where was I supposed to get a ticket and where was I supposed to validate it?!

Also, even if I was able to find a ticket, the vilidation machine was by the driver and there was no way to get there either!

Covid-tested flights from NY to Venice

When I found out that Italy would be open to Americans on covid-tested flights I was so excited that I booked a ticket using my eCredit for October. Little did I know that the flights had to be marked covid-tested on Delta's website, which this one wasn't. Yesterday I looked at the website only to find flights marked covid-tested on the very day I'm leaving. I called Delta and the representative told me covid-tested flights aren't available yet. I said I was looking at one at that moment but she said she didn't have any available yet and to check back in July when the JFK-VCE route will be posted. I'm so confused! Does anyone have any insights? Thanks

Booking tickets in advance (not Colosseum/ Vatican Museum)?

We are going to spend several days in Rome in the first half of September. We aleady booked the tickets to Colosseum and Vatican Museums, whicha re the most popular. We decided not to go to Galeria Borghese (due to time restrictions they impose).

On website of many other attractions (e.g. Caralla Baths, Capitalini Musea) it is said that one should book in advance. However, is it really necessary, or one may just buy tickets in the ticket office and enter? We would like to have as much flexibility as possible.

PCR covid-19 test in Italy - Synlab - How we did it

We used Synlab for our PCR Covid-19 test in Italy. Can highly recommend Synlab.

We had our test done at 10am in the morning, and received our test results at 7pm the same day. We booked our test appointments 2 days ahead at a location near a larger city. Each test cost us 60 EUR, which was 50 EUR for the test plus 10 EUR for an English translation of the test results. We used the website locate.synlab.it to identify Synlab's lab locations.

The most cumbersome part was booking the appointments. To book the appointments, we used Synlab's iOS app. It worked, but it took a couple of tries till we got the accounts set up correctly, so we could book the appointments. At the test site, we received instructions on how to access our test results from a dedicated website. We downloaded the results as PDF documents from that dedicated site, and saved the PDFs on our phones.

Synlab's iOS app showed all open test spots. The website showed many of the locations to be fully booked, which they were not. The lab experience and speed was excellent. The iOS app and website experience was ok, once one knows how to navigate it.

This was August 2021. Hope this helps someone.

Trains in Italy

We will be traveling to Italy in August and are planning to take the train from Milan to Vicenza.

After staying in Vicenza for 5 nights we want to go to Rome from Vicenza by train again.

From what I understand I should reserve these tickets in advance and I don't know which website to use to do so.

Can someone tell me the right website? Do I use the same website for both these tickets?

Thank you very much for your help

Giornaliero for city buses in Bologna

Later this month I will be in Bologna for 24 hours, so a €6 24-hour bus ticket (giornaliero) seems like a good option.

Taking Marconi Express from airport to Bologna Centrale and TPER bus to hotel from there. Where can I purchase a giornaliero, and do I validate it upon boarding the first bus like a regular ticket just that one time (after which it's good for 24 hours with no further validations)? Or are additional validations needed for subsequent rides? Thanks in advance.

Colosseum/Forum/Palatine hill combo tickets

We are heading to Rome in September and would like to get a combo ticket that includes Colosseum/Forum/Palatine Hill. Is it best to do these self-guided or guided? We know some things have changed due to Covid and so we are wondering if anyone can offer help on the best combo ticket, guided or self-guided, that is currently available for these places.

Museum pass

I am a little bit confused about museum/transport passes possible in the city of Genoa. My guidebook says there is a 24h and 48h option with and without city transport. But when researching the website of the civic museums have a 24h pass with city transport (for 15 euro), the visitgenoa website gives only one museum + public transport for different time periods and some cards are suspended (due to covid maybe) ?

Hopefully somebody can clarify for me so I can make the most of my visit to the city.

Travelling in Europe for Third country

Hi Everyone,

I am based in Dubai with a valid Schengen visa (in August for 20 days).

My plan is to travel from Dubai to Venice then to explore other cities like Paris, Amsterdam, Vienna, Athenes.

Now the question: is this plan doable these days? I am already vaccinated with an EU-approved vaccine.

I tried my best to check all the governments' websites but can not find any information if the tourist will be treated as an EU citizen after entering the Schengen area or no?

The Easyjet says that it is possible but I can not trust it as the ticket is not refundable.

Thanks a lot to anyone who will answer me
