Potential EU travel ban for US citizens

Hi,

Hoping for some guidance please, we are set to travel to Italy from UK to holiday on our friends privately owned yacht at sea so will only be transiting through Italy on Arrival and then when leaving, as will be at sea the rest of the time. We are both vaccinated and will be doing the required passenger locator/ PCR test prior to arrival.

My question is though, do we have to do the initial 5 day quarantine if we are not going to be on land and won't have an address, and not sure who to contact is its not a charter boat but privately owned by our friends.

I have seen mixed information, however here it says-

The green pass will be made available to visitors who are fully vaccinated with an EU-approved vaccine, those who have recently recovered from COVID-19, or individuals who have tested negative 48 hours prior to entry in Italy. The green pass grants visitors exemptions to current restrictions such as obligatory quarantine upon arrival or limitations on traveling in between certain regions whilst on a private yacht charter in Italy.

Anyone got any idea or know who best to contact?

We are scheduled to fly from the US to Rome, travel within Italy to Venice and Sorrento. We are fully vaccinated. Aside from safety our question is: are the museums, restaurants, tours expected to be open or has diminished tourism forced a reduction in available attractions? Has anyone recently returned from Italy and how was the testing/re-entry process? We are scouring the online resources but find fellow travelers' information to be the most helpful. Thank you!

Italian Media is now reporting that Public Health Minister Roberto Speranza has just signed a new Decree which EXTENDS THE BENEFITS OF THE EUROPEAN DIGITAL COVID CERTIFICATE (GREEN PASS) TO RESIDENTS OF THE UNITED STATES, CANADA AND JAPAN, meaning that they will be allowed entry into Italy for any reason by satisfying any one of the following conditions:

1. 15 days after the first dose of an approved Covid-19 vaccine; or

2. Having proof of having recovered from Covid-19; or

3. Having a negative molecular or antigenic Covid-19 test result performed no more than 48 hours prior to entry.

VISITORS FROM THE UNITED KINGDOM WILL NEED TO SELF-ISOLATE FOR 5 DAYS UPON ENTRY INTO ITALY, REGARDLESS OF TEST RESULTS.

Hello. We are planning our trip next summer, which will be based in Italy since our daughter already has a school trip scheduled there.

We're planning to spend about 12 days in Italy, ending in Venice. We have 5-6 more days to play with, and were debating between going to Switzerland for the first time, or going to Milan/Lake Cuomo (also for the first time).

I'm hesitating to add the Switzerland portion onto our trip, out of concerns that it might complicate our travel next summer for Covid-related reasons. I'm worried about things like a difference in entry requirements, extra testing requirements, etc. We are all four fully vaccinated, but who knows what the rules will be concerning that by June 2022?

Since nobody has a crystal ball, I was hoping someone could at least talk about how easy it was to travel between Italy and Switzerland this summer (for vaccinated Americans, if that is relevant).

My husband and I are fully vaccinated US citizens who will be working remotely from Greece for about 16 days. We'd like to go to Italy afterwards (starting around July 6th), and I'm trying to understand the current regulations. Obviously we are not able to take a COVID-tested flight directly from the US (without a lot of unnecessary flying across the Atlantic!), but this page seems to suggest that we'd be okay to enter having spent at least two weeks in Greece, which is on List C:

"For all those who have stayed or transited in the fourteen days preceding entry into Italy in one or more of the States and territories referred to in List C..."

My interpretation is that regardless of citizenship, you are clear to enter Italy if you've spent at least two weeks in a List C country, with the requirement of a 48 hour COVID test. Is that correct?

My wife and I hope to enter Italy next week and dont fully understand the current rules.

We are Australian Passport Holders, full vaccinated more then 14 days ago (one Astra Zeneca and one Sinovac). We have been in Indonesia before traveling to Europe and our last 17 days ahve been 5 days in Turkey and now 12 days in Croatia. We will travel directly from Croatia to Italy.

Can we enter Italy quarantine free? If not, would extending to 14 days in Croatia help and/or would having a current PCR test be required or helpful.

Thanks for any helpful advice as much of the online information refers to EU citizens or is a little hard to decipher.

Are Canadians permitted to travel to Italy? According to guidelines that I see, it seems that a fully vaccinated Canadian is permitted to travel to Italy. . My question is, where I have two different vaccines am I considered to be fully vaccinated under Italian guidelines.

From what I have read on the embassy sites, a vaccinated US citizen can travel to Italy, I see "Last updated: 05/25/2021 Travelers departing on COVID-tested international flights between the United States and Italy are not currently subject to quarantine upon arrival in Italy. I see the same thing for Greece. But once I've traveled from the USA to Italy and then from Italy to Greece, will Greece have an issue with me because I am not flying direct to Greece? My husband and I are vaccinated US citizens and have been traveling around for several weeks now. We started in Greece, then made our way to Romania last Monday. We will be heading to Rome on Wednesday. We know US tourists can travel to Italy for tourist reasons now (until July 30th?), but we want to clear up any possible issues in being in both Greece and Romania recently.

On the US embassy website (https://it.usembassy.gov/covid-19-information/), it points out two forms I think we have to fill out before entry: this self declaration form (https://www.esteri.it/mae/resource/doc/2020/08/modulo_rientro_da_estero__26_08_20_inglese.pdf) and this EU digital passport locator form (https://app.euplf.eu/#/).

My questions a

1) Do we still have to fill out these forms if we are coming from the EU (Romania)?

2) Does the self declaration form need to be printed off and filled out? Or can we fill it in as a PDF on a computer and save it to show at the airport?

3) How soon will these forms need to be filled out? I know that in Greece the PLF needed to be filled out more than 24 hours before the flight. Is that the case with these forms?

4) Is the "until July 30, 2021" date just a precaution in case cases spike again? Like is it likely they will just extend this deadline, or will we more likely need to make our way out on the 30th?

5) Is there anything else I am missing? I know we got stamped in and out of Greece/Romania because Romania isn't part of the Schengen area; are there any other issues with entering back into the Schengen area?

The Ordinance signed into law today by Italian Health Minister Roberto Speranza contains a provision in Article 6 (hyperlinked below) which provides that Canada, Japan and the United States will be moved from List E to List D effective Sunday, May 16.

THIS MEANS THAT SUCH PERSONS WILL BE ALLOWED ENTRY INTO ITALY FOR ANY LAWFUL PURPOSE, INCLUDING TOURISM AND LEISURE TRAVEL, but subject to the entry conditions, which AT THE MOMENT require a negative molecular OR antigenic test performed no more than 48 hours beforehand, 10 DAYS OF SELF-ISOLATION, and a second molecular OR antigenic test at the conclusion of the period of self-isolation. Proof of vaccination or recovery from the virus are NOT for the present recognized conditions for entry into Italy (but this may change soon).
