Flying from Ireland to park albatros

Hi we are considering this park for June 2022.

Can anyone tell me what days you can fly to Pisa from Shannon/Cork/Dublin? Hoping to fly late June but can’t book it until I know the flights will match.

June 2, Republic Day

Next May 2022, this will be on a Thursday. Does it usually become a longer weekend event or just a one day thing? We have changed our vaca planning from Sept to May..last two weeks of May or last one of May first of June. It might be a good time to celebrate along but wondering if it becomes a traffic nightmare for a couple of days. Talking the Lake District.

Rome in mid/late March vs. late June

We can choose to travel either mid-March or late June next year? I am leaning towards March so it will be cooler and less crowded.

Thoughts?

Can you park in Piazza Vittorio Emanuele?

I am looking at this car park and it says 1 hour for 10cents? So you pay 10cents only but it is restricted to 1 hour? Sorry I am not familiar with Italian language so much. I am planning where to park when in Trapani

Best value car parking at Civitavecchia

Hey everyone,

Off on my first ever cruise in October - covid permitting.

Can you recommend me a decent car park for 8 days?

We will be driving up from darkest Basilicata the day before and stopping in an hotel for the night.

Perhaps there is a nice (cheap) hotel that will let us leave our car in their car park while we are away?

Where to stay in Palermo with a car

We will be visiting Sicily end of June, beginning of July. We will be travelling in a rental car. We know Palermo is not a city to travel by car, but we would love to spend a few nights there anyway.

So could anyone give us some advice a place where we could stay and park our car safely during our visit of the city. We would be arriving and leaving from the direction of Cefalu. Thx!

Best beach area in Tuscany to relax after tour?

Just starting to plan 10 days in Tuscany for June 22 after two years of delays. Hoping we’ll be able to travel to Italy without issues by then.

Working backwards and had done a lot of research before but hadn’t got as far as looking at coastal areas in Tuscany and thought it would we good to finish up with a few days nears the beach. What are your favourite areas that you can recommend please.

Thanks

Summer train schedule

We will be in Italy 8/19 - 9/1. From research here, it appears that Trenitali releases schedule sometime early to mid-June - but I read the schedule doesn’t really differ much, which means I could go ahead and book.

However - I wasn’t sure how altered schedules were from the pandemic and, as tourism is added, would there be more times added to know whether this was the year to wait to book because there probably will be more changes?

Flights to Venise.

Hi all, does anyone have any info on flights into Venise please ? I am trying to book a holiday in Abano and Padova, but can’t find any flights at all to Venise from Nice France. I know there are trains, but I’m 70 with a large suitcase and a very bad back problem. Thanks so much.

Quick trip to Milan - where to spend 3 days?

Group of 7 including 3 teenagers traveling at the end of June 2022. Flying into Venice and spending 2.5 days there and will finish the trip with 4 days in Rome. Half of the group has been to Italy before, 1st trip to Europe for the other half.

One member of the group wants to meet up with a friend in Milan for a day.

Thinking it might be nice to spend a few days at Lake Como for these reasons -

Would be an easy trip back and forth to Milan for the friend meet up.

Nice relaxation time with swimming, boating, laying out by the lake etc.

Lake Como is gorgeous!

If you were traveling from VCE to Rome and had 3 or 4 days AND needed to spend 1 day in Milan where would you go? Am I on the right track or should we be looking elsewhere?

Sicily for 4-6 weeks - mid June-late July; or after August

Hi there,

My family of 4 (kids aged 9 and nearly 5) are planning a trip to Sicily for 4-6 weeks in 2023 (and other parts of Italy too after the 4-6 weeks are up). We will rent a car for most of our stay.

We are planning to come in mid-June, which is the earliest we can arrive that spring.

My main question is: We aren't certain though if we should stay through to the end of July (6 weeks)?

We don't really know what its like in July, as we've been to Sicily in different periods befo

* early-mid June a few years ago (a bit north of Catania, Ortigia, Agriturismo Silitti near Caltanisetta, Marsala, Scopello); and

* a few days in early October for our honeymoon about 10 years ago (Ortigia and an agriturismo called Zottopera near Chiaramonte Gulfi).

We would ideally like to have a relaxing time with the kids in Sicily - and are hoping to avoid extreme heat (e.g. over 33 Celsius) during the middle of the day, crazy busy-ness and the worst of the Italian school holidays.

We are planning to stay in 2 or 3 spots as bases (about 10 days each): something like beachside near Noto/Ragusa, another near Palermo; and possibly an agriturismo in a central region or near a nice village (in a different region) as a third base. With possible weekend stays in Ortigia, Palermo, Cefalu and San Vito lo Capo.

Most places in Italy we'd like to visit mention September/October as ideal timing to visit, which I believe is also true for Sicily. But if we can visit Sicily at the start of our trip, we can leave September for areas like further north like Tuscany, Urbino, Ascoli Piceno.
