dPLF status

Hi folks. Quick question I just filled out the digital form for me, my wife, and my two sons for an upcoming trip the other day on the website. Many steps for sure but actually not too bad. The status still just says “submitted”. Is that the final status or does that mean it’s under review and I should be hearing something else back. I just don’t wanna show up and find out that there was a problem with the form any help appreciated. Right now I have two hardcopies print it out to be able to present upon request but again the status is submitted so I’m just trying to make sure there’s not another status be on that like “approved”

Cheers

Venice status / trip ideas

Hello, can anyone please comment on the status / busyness of Venice this summer? Realizing that Italy recently opened up travel to certain countries. Looking to add a city on to our cinque terre trip, unsure where. Would love any suggestions / tips.

Thanks!

? On timing of dPLF

Is there a timeframe to complete the dPLF? I haven’t been able to find one so wanted to ask.

We are going to Italy from the US on August 19 but I have already completed the PLF for my husband and I. My question is whether I’m too early - should I have done it (do it again) closer to the trip?

(Couldn’t find a requirement that it had to be done - for example - within 4 days of travel)

Covid-19 Entry Regulations, etc.

Lots of questions out there, particularly from US resident tourists. Hopefully these websites help.

And for Canadians: https://ambottawa.esteri.it/ambasciata_ottawa/it/ambasciata/news/dall_ambasciata/2020/03/focus-coronavirus.html (English translation button apparently not working but “ Le certificazioni vaccinali e di guarigione rilasciate dalle autorità sanitarie del Canada sono riconosciute come equivalenti alle certificazioni italiane” is what you need to know.

Apologies to residents of Japan for my inability to find a government site specifically confirming acceptance of your country’s vaccination certificate.

Trip to Positano, Capri and Rome

Hey Everyone... Flying to Italy on Saturday, July 17th with my wife for our wedding anniversary. We are both fully vaccinated. I've been doing as much research as possible but can't find certain answers so any help is appreciated! Sounds like to get into Italy, we need our vaccination cards in hand and to fill out the digital passenger locator form. Is that all we need? No covid test required is what I am seeing.

Also - my understanding is we must test within 3 days of departure from Italy back to NYC. With that said, we are currently doing 2 nights in Positano and 1 night in Capri and then 2 nights in Rome (out flight is out of Rome). We wanted to do 2 nights in Positano, 2 in Capri and 1 in Rome but were worried it may be more difficult to find the right covid test in Capri vs Rome? If anyone could help provide info on exactly which covid test we need to get back to USA, that would be helpful. I checked the website and it was very vague. Also, do we just show our results when we check in at Rome airport or is there an online form?

Thanks in advance for your help!

Phoning Italy’s ministry of health covid line from US

Hello,

I’m trying to reach the Covid information line from the US with the number provided but it is not working. I know to use “011” to call out, but I would think there is something else wrong with the number provided. Here is what I have from the Italia tourism website:

Useful numbers from the Ministry of Health

from Italy: 1500 (free toll number)

from abroad: +39 0232008345 - +39 0283905385

I have tried both numbers with the 011, even trying it with and without the first zero, but it doesn’t go through. Is there any suggestion?

I will post on another thread my basic question about traveling to Italy, as it pertains to the possibility of traveling there after 3 weeks in Croatia and determining exactly what we need. I would like to confirm that we can do this as US citizens.

Do I need a test? (<36h stay)

Hello,

I will arrive in Malpensa ar 1 o’clock in the morning and will have my flight to my home country on the same day, at 21:00 but from Bergamo.

In this case, some arr saying that for less than 36h of stay I do not need to make any test, just to fill that passegner form.

My stay in Italy it’s even less than 24h. Do I really need a test? My airline told me to check the country official information sources, but there isn’t specified at transit section if I need to stay in the same airport or not. It’s just about those 36h.

Thank you!

Covid Still Out There

To all you travelers heading to Italy: even if you are vaccinated, many here are not. Keep your anti-Covid practices in place. Inquire in advance with your lodging as to their anti-Covid practices and vaccination status. Do the same with your private driver(s).

I made a quick first-time overnight side trip to Capri yesterday only to be told this morning that one of the guests who occupied my room before me and who checked out just before I checked in yesterday subsequently tested positive for Covid this morning. Even though I am fully vaccinated (Pfizer; jabs on April 2 and 23) I am now in isolation at my original hotel after undergoing a test today (negative) and have been advised I should remain here at least until another test is performed after a few days.

Don’t let your guard down now. The bastard is still out there and you may be subject to isolation if you are possibly exposed.

Naples 2021

Hey guys✨ Hope everyone is safe.

I have an upcoming September trip to Italy and was thinking of staying in Naples for two nights, however I have a terrible (I mean really severe) phobia of all kinds of lizards. I was wondering if they’re very present in Naples, or if there are places where they are avoidable. How about other parts of Italy? If I go somewhere and there are many on the streets I’ll just end up locked in my room the entire time freaking out. Thank you in advance, kind regards

Need both Eu DPL FORM and also Self Declaration form?

To enter Italy from the US, do I need to do BOTH the EUROPEAN DIGITAL PASSENGER LOCATOR FORM (dPLF) link he https://app.euplf.eu/#/

and also the SELF-DECLARATION FOR ENTRY INTO ITALY FROM ABROAD - link: https://www.esteri.it/mae/resource/doc/2020/08/modulo_rientro_da_estero__26_08_20_inglese.pdf

Or do you just need one of them? And, any other forms needed? We are fully vaccinated and flying out tomorrow from NYC to MXP. Thank you!

Looking for ideas

Hoping to spend 10-14 nights in Tuscany next April for the wife’s 50 birthday. We’re flying into Pisa and hiring a car. Been to northern Italy plenty of times but this will be our first trip to Tuscany. I’m really just looking for ideas where best to stay 2-4 nights in each place. Small villages, picturesque towns. No big cities. If people just shout out a few towns I’ll take a look and work out our itinerary.
