Travel from USA to Italy and from Italy to Greece

From what I have read on the embassy sites, a vaccinated US citizen can travel to Italy, I see "Last updated: 05/25/2021 Travelers departing on COVID-tested international flights between the United States and Italy are not currently subject to quarantine upon arrival in Italy. I see the same thing for Greece. But once I've traveled from the USA to Italy and then from Italy to Greece, will Greece have an issue with me because I am not flying direct to Greece? I look forward to any comments/feedback, thanks

Where in Italy? Advice and Opinions wanted.

We are looking at taking a trip to Italy in October. This will be our first trip as new parents without a baby and we are 100% interested in relaxing, taking our time walking pretty streets, eating delicious food, and drinking even more delicious wine. If we don't do a single museum or go to any popular tourist sites- fine by us! We are wanting to go somewhere with comfortable weather- not too warm, not too cold, but maybe cool enough for a light jacket in the evenings. We were last in Italy (Puglia) for our babymoon in March 2020 when everything went nuts there and our trip was less enjoyed, as a result.

I appreciate any and all help.

Entering Italy from Portugal, later entering Greece

In mid-September, we are flying from Boston to Lisbon to Rome landing early in the morning in Lisbon and flying to Rome several hours later. I think I need to fill out the PLF twice, once before our flight to Portugal and once before the flight to Italy. Is that the way it works? I know we also need a COVID test to enter Portugal. We were both completely vaccinated four months ago and have our CDC cards. Three days after entering Italy we will fly to Greece. We need another PLF to fly to Greece right? As of now, Greece does not require a test for those entering Greece from Italy, right? Thanks.

7-10 Day Family Trip

Hello! Our family is planning a trip to Italy in early June. We want to spend 7-10 days there. There are 5 of us, two parents and three kids ages 18-24. We are thinking of flying into Rome and taking the train from there to Florence then Cinque Terre then Venice and flying out of Venice.

1. Does this sound like a reasonable itinerary or is it too much to fit in?

2. I have seen some articles online about some of these places being overrated and crowded. Is this true? Is there somewhere better worth seeing?

Thank you for your help!!

1-2 weeks in Italy advice

Hello, my husband and I (both fully vaccinated) will be in Switzerland for one month (Sept. 21-October 21). We are thinking of extending our trip for 1-2 weeks and visiting Italy because we end up in Lugano, and would be able to take the train to Italy. (We will need to return to Zurich for our flight home, so as to avoid change fees.)

We have been to Italy several times, but have never done anything other than the main cities and tourist areas. We did visit Cinque Terre from Florence on one trip, and did the hike from village to village, and we have visited Lake Como twice, but only on day trips. We also did a vacation in Italy one time that included the Dolomites, Verona and Sienna. We love nature, hiking, quaint villages, pretty beaches, biking. We have never done the countryside in Italy (Tuscany area), seen Portofino or Genoa. Based on when we'd be there (late October), and the fact that we will need to get back to Zurich for our flight home, we don't want to travel as far south as the Amalfi Coast, so we'd appreciate any suggestions for places to visit for 1-2 weeks that are more north. We prefer being able to use public transportation, but are open to car rental, if need be. Really appreciator any advice/suggestions!

Italy in October

Hello,

My husband and I want to celebrate our 15th yr anniv and planning on going to Italy. We are both vaccinated. Is it safe to travel there now? If so would you say a lot of the wineries up north are open. We can't decide if we want to go up north to tuscany, florence, lake como, cinque terre, etc or should we do naples and amalfi coast. Our dates are Oct 1-9. Is the weather warm enough for Amalfi coast? I just don't know if everything is open and worth the trip? Any guidance is appreciated. Thank you!

Do I need PCR/HAT test when returning from Greece

Hello

We would like to go to Greece last 10 days in June and ask for yours help. My question is:

1. do I need a PCR or HAT negative test for the return flight from Preveza to Italy. We will fly with Volotea. I'm a resident of Slovenia. After landing at the airport I will pick up my car at the parking and driving back to Slovenia.

2. do I need any test before flying to Greece to show to the airline representative at Venice airport?

I know that that I must log in to the Italian application before entering Italy at departure and arrival.

Kind regards

Ales

First trip to Italy, 3 week itinerary help please!

First off- thanks in advance for any advice! (first time posting)

We are planning a ~2.5-3 week trip to Italy for May 2022 with our 2 kids (6 and 8).

My idea of a dream Italy vacay is cozy farms, beautiful scenery, amazing food, space for the kids to run and explore, bike rides, horse rides, and an authentic feel.

We also like to take our time in places vs trying to rush and see it all. I feel we have to see Rome and Venice but also know our kids will easily get overwhelmed and tired by the big cities.

Based on that, I have loosely come up with the following itinerary:

Fly into Rome (found a great points flight from our city); 3 nights here

5 nights in Umbria (agriturismo)

5 nights in Tuscany (agriturismo)

? 1-2 nights in Bergamo (my hubby has been and loves Citta Alta neighbourhood)

3 nights in Venice - fly home

Any thoughts on this? I love the idea of Cinque Terre but perhaps best to save it for another time (without the kids!).

Thank you!! Cait

Italy in Sept - warm weather, nice beaches

Hi,

My husband and I are hoping to do a road trip around Italy mid sept for 2 weeks. We are flexible with respect to which city we fly in/out from.

We love quiet, scenic beaches (especially quiet coves away from too many tourists), but also like mini city/local town/village trips. We would like our trip to be more beach heavy with a few day/overnight trips to cities/local towns/villages thrown in!

We are happy to do a mix of trains/rental cars but are thinking it probably makes more sense to just hire a car for the whole trip.

Could anyone suggest a 2-week itinerary that could incorporate these things? We are thinking south of Italy, as assuming the weather will be better there in Sept.

Thanks in advance!

Novavax vaccine

Hi,

I received 2 vaccines from Novavax and can't find any info as to whether this is acceptable to enter Italy. I was invited to a wedding in Late September. I also plan on going to Greece. Greece does explicitly accept people with Novavax vaccines. I am hoping it will be approved in the next month, and otherwise, maybe get Pfizer in August. Does anyone know if this is ok in Italy. There were 45,000 people in the UK, US trial. Thanks
