Alitalia Update

I received an email this morning changing the flight number and time of our flight on Sept 25 from FCO TO PMO. The new flight number is the same flight my son is booked on through Delta. It looks like Alitalia is consolidating their flights. So at this point it appears as if Alitalia will still be flying some of their routes.

Stay Away from Alitalia

I had a flight booked with Alitalia from LA to Rome for August 1st. I tried checking in 24 hours before flight on the app and I kept getting flight not found message. I decided to call them and they told me there was no flight and to contact Delta since I made the purchase through them. I waited on hold for almost 2 hours, and Delta verified that the flight was cancelled by Alitalia. Luckily they were able to book us on a different flight. I never received any notification or email regarding the cancellation. Luckily I called them before heading to the airport.

Flying from MIAMI to Rome on to CAT on Alitalia. Is 3 hours enough to pick up bags and check in for CAT?

How long does it take to get through customs?

I'm curious with any additional Covid-related steps needed after we land to get through customs... how long does it take to get through customs now?

I booked a Delta "Covid Tested" flight from Atlanta to Rome (FCO), and we're landing on a Wednesday morning at 7:45am.

The reason why I ask: we're planning to go straight to Sorrento via train, and want to book train tickets in advance. Wondering how much time we should plan between landing at FCO and getting on the train. FCO > Roma Termini > Napoli > Sorrento

Delta PCR Test Info & COVID Tested Flights

If you are planning on traveling on a COVID tested flight ticketed by Delta: the DL website is pretty thorough with info and steps to take regarding advance PCR tests and day of departure procedures. Take a look at the page and choose your applicable route and departure date category: https://www.delta.com/us/en/travel-planning-center/know-before-you-go/italy-covid-tested-flights

Beware… rapid-result PCR tests are not cheap. IME the cost can range from USD 150 to USD 300+

I hope you all make your arrangements correctly so that you will be able to board on your scheduled departure date.

have read and reread Delta's preflight testing requirement..

I'll be going to Venice in October, Delta Site says a PCR or viral antigen test is accepted.

Can anyone define the Antigen test as one you can get at CVS or Walgrens and get results in hour or so?? - So a rapid antigen test -

They have used several descriptions on their site in several places....

Thanks

Tom

Jet2 coach transfer

Has anyone used jet2 transfer to limone sul garda. Did it take 3 hours please.

getting there

my mom and I are planning a trip to the Amalfi coast. we are debating if we should fly direct from New York to Rome and then get a private transfer or do the train to Naples or if we should take a connecting flights from New York and fly into Naples and from there get a transfer. Which would be easier?
