Hotels near Villa Balbiano

I have a wedding to go to at Villa Balbiano. A couple of questions:

* Are there any good hotels within walking distance ($200 per night?)

* While the wedding is a one day event, my plan is to spend two nights at Lake Como at the Hilton or the Hyatt and move to the hotel near Villa Balbiano on the day of wedding. How expensive are the cab rides? The distance from Hilton to Villa Balbiano is close to 30 km.

Thanks!

visit to Pompeii and Herculaneum

My husband and I are retired and we and our son are planning to travel from Rome to visit Pompeii and Herculaneum for two or three nights in late September or early October and had several questions:

Which is preferable as a base - Naples or Sorrento?

When you visit Pompeii - what can you reasonably expect to be able to do after the visit such as a museum or walking tour - same with Herculaneum.

Any recommendations for a tour guide for each place.

Overnight layover in Naples : can I visit ?

Hi everybody !

I have a layover in Naples on my way to Albania and I’ve never been so I was hoping to visit. However, I arrive at 5 pm and depart the next day at 3:30pm. Considering that my hotel is a 7 minute walk from the airport and that I have a small backpack as carryon (that I’ll probably leave at the hotel), can I visit Naples between 5pm and 9pm the day I arrive and 8am to 12/1pm the next day?

Do you have any recommandations on things I absolutely can’t miss? And obviously, can anybody recommend a must-eat-at pizzeria?

Additionally, if someone has any insight on the whole pickpocketing situation (is it really as bad as they say? What should I avoid doing or what should I do to stay safe, beside the basic 101 of keeping my wallet close on me, etc).

Thank you so much !

Chianti and Va d'Orcia

Hello,

I plan to visit Tuscany this summer. I would like to know where to drive in Chianti and in Val d'Orcia to see the most sceenic landscape. Which towns there should I visit?

Thank you.

Recomended area to stay

I am planning a visit with my two history and food interested grand-daughters (19-20). What would be the best area to stay ? The Piazza Billini area ? Or near the central station to visit Pompeii ?

I have looked at the top question "where to stay in Naples" but things may have changed during the last 5 years.

day trips by public transport

We will be in Brindisi centre for 4 days. I am thinking to visit Ostuni by train or bus for a day. Can you suggest other day trips that are easy by public transport from Brindisi? (apart from Lecce as we have already been a couple of times and we would like to visit new places).

Is 7 days in Catania in February too long?

North or South Italy

Hi

I'm planning to go to Italy in April 2022 for a full week. I love museums and beaches. Because I only have a week, I think I will just only visit North or South Italy. Which one should I visit? Thank you.

Amalfi/sicily?

We are travelling to croatia next year but want to do a week in Italy too. As we can't fly direct to naples, is sicily worth a visit followed by 4 days in amalfi or praino before flying to dubrovnik? I have found a lovely place in praino but wondered what it is like as a town and if a visit to amalfi or positano is worth it, or alternatively fly to another city and them on to naples??

Thank you
