Giornaliero for city buses in Bologna

I am looking for a private driver on September 23 to pick us up from the Bologna tain station and take us to places in Moderna and Parma and return in late afternoon. Where would I find a driver and what is the going rate? There are just two of us.

I am trying to buy a train ticket before I leave the US for Milano Centrale to Verona.

My flight lands at 7:45 a.m if it is on time.

So, I will first take the Malpensa train to Milano Centrale. I won’t hsve any checked luggage to gather, just carryon.

Any approximate times you think that I would be safe booking?

Or just take a Regionale where I can hop on any train?

What do you think?

I’m seeking recommendation for my last 2 nights which will be in Catania. Unfortunately my flight was already canceled once by Delta. Therefore the only flight out to Rome is KLM, ticket already purchased.

I’m looking for an accommodation that would be feasible to explore Catania historic city center as well as be able to get to airport in time fir 6:35 departure. In USA it’s recommended to be at airport now 3 hrs preflight. I’m not sure how it works in Sicily? So any hotel resources or airport support direction greatly appreciated .

First, i should mention that i'm somewhat ADHD when on vacation so i don't like to stay in one place too long but would rather look, absorb, take some pics and keep moving along. My partner, our very active and walking/ climbing/ running 14 month old anc me need to spend a night in Rome in mid-July. We will be coming via train from Florence some time on aSunday and taking a flight out of Rome on Monday lunch time. We are looking for somewhere with easy access to the station, but also somewhere that might provide a little bit of luxury and a treat for the final night of our trip. We imagine it maybe too hot to see much of the city with our toddler (and we will only have the afternoon) so wondered if there was a hotel that was set up to receive families or couples with children - or if anyone has had a really good hotel experience in central Rome they can recommend!

We usually stay in Airbnb’s or camp, so this is new for us.

Our budget is around 200 euro of the one night, give or take.

We are arriving in Venice on the 19 th, 4 nights. Then on the 23 rd transferring to Florence for 5 nights.

We would like to do the Bologna food tour which starts at 7 am. The train schedules now are little help. Is there normally an early morning high speed train from Florence? Would it be better to do the tour on the 23 rd, leaving Venice very early? If so is there somewhere to store our luggage in Bologna?

Hello, my mother is flying into Malpensa from a list D country while transiting through a list E country, and currently the Italian gov website says travellers must undergo a "molecular *OR* antigenic swab carried out within 72 hours prior to entry into Italy and the result of which is negative". I just wanted to be 100% sure that it's ok for her to take the antigen test (throat swabs) over the RT-PCR test; I am wary of telling her that the antigen test is ok (PCR test is 4 times more expensive where she is).

Furthermore, concerning the 72 hour test validity, I read on the Malpensa website "it is mandatory to undergo a swab test for COVID-19 in the 72 hours *prior to boarding*" --> 72 hours prior to boarding sounds very different from "72 hours prior to entry into Italy" as per salute.gov.it. How does one accurately calculate the 72 hour period? is it required that the test be conducted 72 hours from the time her flight arrives at Malpensa? or is it 72 hours prior to departure (which is what I also read on https://www.etiasitaly.com/pcr-test-entry-italy/). thanks for your help..

Hey! Just got to Venice and I don't know how the bus works. I couldn't find a ticket machine and there was no way to get close to the driver because there was a chain. Where was I supposed to get a ticket and where was I supposed to validate it?!

Also, even if I was able to find a ticket, the vilidation machine was by the driver and there was no way to get there either!

We are scheduling a 1-month trip to Italy in August, including the below spots.

While we will of course make advance bookings for rooms according to our itinerary, we are interested to learn whether there are any additional things you highly recommend booking in advance. (e.g., Last Supper in Milan, scooters in Tuscany, ...)

Of course we realize this depends a lot on what we will do exactly, but that is something we are still planning over the next weeks. Therefore, any suggestions on 'what to definitely book in advance' for the below destinations would already be very much appreciated.

We're headed on a month long trip to Italy mid July-August and could use any input / advice on the best places to stay. We're two musicians planning to do some music work and find an Airbnb to bunker down in for the month while we work on projects.

The current goal is to find a city near some water (lake or sea!), a small to medium sized city that doesn't feel overwhelmed by travelers or city bustle and has a small town more authentic feel to it. Since we'd be staying in and exploring the local area for a big part of our time, the local feeling is very important!

Ideally it'll be a place that we can get to from Rome without a car (we don't mind if its a long train ride) & it would be a place that could allow for little weekend trips to other cities and areas again without a car.

We've explored Como, Siena, Pisa, Bologna & Florence as possible options, but still having a bit of trouble sorting through the options. Hoping to get some advice from people with a bit more experience and knowledge than us!
