staircase to La Scogliera

Do you know if the staircase that leads down to La Scogliera Beach Club is private and belongs only to Marincanto or is it public?

I will stay on the upper part of Cristoforo Colombo and would be much easier to reach the beach club from that stairway.

Help for 8 to 10 days in Ischia

Hello my friend and I (late 30's) would like to spend 8 to 10 days end of July in Ischia, it is the 1st holiday since 2 years, so we need to relax and destress from work and Covid. We will be flying from Munich, no car in Italy.

- Is the period too long?

- Is it easy to reach by ferry and move around the island by bus?

- Can you recommend a hotel with beach access?

- If a hotel is not having beach access, how easy it is to access public beaches around the Island? Are there any Covid capacity restrictions?

- Shall we opt for an all inclusive or half board option at the hotel or it is easy to go dine outside? Using Public transport?

- What other recommendations do you have? (wine tours, boat tours etc…)

Thank you

Sandy

best hotel near beach near Cagliari

Evening

Me and my wife are coming in September for four days and was wondering what is the best area to stay in. We are flying into Cagliari airport and would like to be on the beach but near a town with bars and sightseeing no more than an hour away from the airport, any suggestions?

Regards

Where to stay, family with toddler

We are planning a one-week trip to Sardinia with our 2.5 year old daughter late August. Looking for a small hotel or serviced villa/apartment:

- with pvt beach or at walking distance to a beautiful beach

- with a pool ideally

- not too crowded with tourists

- in a cozy city/village offering easy walks and hikes (not too hilly) and proximity to restaurants

- toddler-friendly activities close-by

Any recommendations on the area /place to stay?

Best located hotels rentals in Positano for views + access?

Hello all,

Planning a trip to gorgeous Positano. We understand stairs. We can and will do stairs. But we want to try and hit the sweet spot of a wonderful few and the fewest stairs possible. (surely such a thing exists?)

Looking for a very good+ hotel or rental without too much of a knee-busting vertical climb up hundreds stairs (for example - while the Miramare has great views, it must be accessed via 200 stairs, which just sounds too strenuous to be worth it). We are mostly interested in good restaurants, wine bars, a little shopping and maybe a little beach time. And breakfast / sunsets on a great balcony or terrace. Walking up and down Via Pasitea or Cristopher Columbo would not be a problem for us.

We would like to keep the cost at not much more than $1K per night. Therefore, Sirenuese is not an option, lol.

Not sure about Ancora, either - rooms look pretty dated and it appears only one room has a full terrace with a view. Also unsure about Buca di Bacco. (so close to the beach. Assume it is noisy - am I wrong?)

I’ve checked Summer in Italy for rentals, and, unsurprisingly, there are few options left for our dates in mid-September. ( I do love how this company’s transparency about the number of steps to reach lodgings. Wish there were more options for our dates).

Finally - how long is the staircase from Via Cristopher Columbo down to Piazza Mulini, for example?

I’ve tried research on google maps and have learned that much of Positano is not mapped. Unsurprising since auto traffic is blocked in the town. (Have they ever heard of GoPro, lol?)

Thanks for suggestions!

Week stay after Biking. Help please

My wife and I are seniors, and will be taking a bike trip in Italy this September We have been fortunate to have biked many times in Europe, and have typically opted to spend another week or ten days nearby in a more leisurely holiday after the bike portion of our trip. Ideally we would like a pleasant beach town where we could rent a small flat for a week, doing some touring by car in the region, and some lazing on the beach. Any suggestions, particularly from the Sicily experts, are very welcome. Thanks !

Olbia hotels with airport/beach shuttle?

Are there any Olbia hotels with complimentary (or reasonably-priced) airport and/or beach shuttles presently operating? Because of a flight cancellation, we now have to arrive a day earlier, and will have to return to the airport to pick up for our previously-reserved rental car. Hoping to find a hotel on or near a beach with a shuttle to return to the airport so that we won't have to incur these unforeseen expenses (can't amend our current car rental reservation to add a day as that would involve cancelling and starting over, and cars are pricing for more than double the rate we are paying already for 22 days). Thanks for any suggestions!!

11 nights in Sardegna - please help! where should we stay?

We are a ‘mature’ couple traveling to Italy with 11 nights open between Rome & Florence so decided to visit Sardegna in early September. Probably flying into Olbia & departing from Cagliari.

Enjoy white sandy beaches, crystal clear water (who doesn't?), swimming, drinking local wine & local food. Also realize that beaches in Sardegna are rocky.

Prefer to stay at hotels in town to walk to dinner and stroll around town at night. Will rent a car to drive to close beaches during the day, perhaps stay at a beach hotel for 2 or 3 nights if on a beautiful beach.

Any suggestions on itinerary - where to stay & for how many nights? Perhaps 3 locations with 11 nights? The more I read on this helpful forum, the more overwhelmed I become on where to stay.

San Teodoro, Orosei, Villasimius, Isola Carloforte? Departing from Cagliari; how many nights would you recommend staying there?

Will reserve rental car prior to arrival, as well as hotel 1st and last night. Should I make hotel reservations in advance for the rest of trip? September is a busy month and may be more so this year.

TYIA!

Recommended Bagnis near SML

We will arrive in Santa Margherita on Saturday afternoon and will be based there until Wednesday. We’d like to spend one or two half days at the beach so we are looking for recommendations for a bagni within 45 minutes drive. Looking for a beautiful sandy beach, and a bagni with a good vibe. Asking now so we can make a phone call and reserve in advance.

Thank you in advance.

Best beach area in Tuscany to relax after tour?

Just starting to plan 10 days in Tuscany for June 22 after two years of delays. Hoping we’ll be able to travel to Italy without issues by then.

Working backwards and had done a lot of research before but hadn’t got as far as looking at coastal areas in Tuscany and thought it would we good to finish up with a few days nears the beach. What are your favourite areas that you can recommend please.

Thanks
