Website glitch for Doge’s Palace?

Hello,

I am on the palazzoducale.visitmuve.it site. I select the Palazzo Ducale and then I select the date I want. However, on the next page you have to select how many tickets you want and I cannot get the number to increase. It is showing tickets available on my date but I cannot select them. It’s almost like the site has a glitch. Is anyone else having this issue, or have they turned off tickets due to Covid? Any help is appreciated. Thank you!

High Speed Train tickets: Rome to Florence in November

Hi,

I am trying to buy tickets on the high speed train from Rome to Florence in late November, but it appears as though they aren't running. I can buy a ticket for a high speed train up until November 2, but after that date, all of the non-stop options are either 3h 45 mins or just over 4 hours. Does anyone know why this is the case? Are high speed trains not running in after October? Is this a COVID thing? Am I trying to buy my tickets too early? Thanks!

Booking tickets in advance (not Colosseum/ Vatican Museum)?

We are going to spend several days in Rome in the first half of September. We aleady booked the tickets to Colosseum and Vatican Museums, whicha re the most popular. We decided not to go to Galeria Borghese (due to time restrictions they impose).

On website of many other attractions (e.g. Caralla Baths, Capitalini Musea) it is said that one should book in advance. However, is it really necessary, or one may just buy tickets in the ticket office and enter? We would like to have as much flexibility as possible.

Social distancing on trains

At the risk of sounding naive, are Italian trains limiting capacity now? We were planning on purchasing our train tickets once in the country but wonder will those tickets be limited? Should we purchase in advance? All responses much appreciated.

Trains in Italy

We will be traveling to Italy in August and are planning to take the train from Milan to Vicenza.

After staying in Vicenza for 5 nights we want to go to Rome from Vicenza by train again.

From what I understand I should reserve these tickets in advance and I don't know which website to use to do so.

Can someone tell me the right website? Do I use the same website for both these tickets?

Thank you very much for your help

Traffic Tickets from Italy - a Scam?

HI there

I spent a week in Italy in Bologna, Verona and Pisa in July 2016. In January 2017, I have received a whopping 7 tickets on the mail (I live in the US) from the different municipalities. They all are asking for payments for strange infractions that I don't even understand. I have requested information/prrof from the website they provided on the notices and no answer. All they responded is PAY. They also immediately increase penalties if you don't send the money withn 5 days. The total amount is over $1000 if you add the international wire transfers. To me this seems a total scam. I keep questioning myself about validating legal scam. Also they don't accept credit cards and only wire transfers which are expensive. I wanted to get your opinion. in the US, you have a process by which you can schedule a hearing and dispute this if needed. Here, they give you 5 days to pay and when I requested proof, no answer. I am reluctant to be scammed. What would happen if I don't pay? Will this be at one point, reported on credit collection agencies if you don't pay? Spending $1000+ on tickets that you don't even know what they are for, seems absolutely ridiculous. Your feedback is greatly appreciated.

Thanks

David

Travel to Italy in September 2021

We are traveling to Italy for our 25th Wedding Anniversary - we will be going from Rome, to Cinque Terre, to Florence, to Venice and Milan. We plan on traveling exclusively by train. Is there a need to buy any/all tickets in advance? Is a pass worth considering or do we by individual tickets for each journey?

Thanks in advance!

Which hotel property to use?

Hopefully, all things will be safe for travel. Our son would like to go for my 75'th BD , DIL 50'th and Granddaughter's 16'th birthday to Rome. We plan on arriving a few (5 days) before them and using Marriott points. A few years ago, we stayed at the Palazzo Naiadia , but not now, no longer a Marriott. Have narrowed down to Rome Marriott Grand Flora or the Pantheon Iconic Rome Hotel, AC. Any information or which you would select, or comments. After, our five days, we will move to our son's place he has book for us, for 8 nights, at Villa Spalletti Trivelli. Any comments/suggestions appreciated.

Regional Italy train

I see on a lot of train tickets you can use it up to 4 hours. Is this true for all regional trains? I can’t seem to find that on my one ticket. Thanks
