Parking and Traffic

Hello. I am wondering if I can not enter the old town by my car, which possibilities I got, to travel trough the area with my grandmother. She can not walk long distances. Thank you for all answers.

What area of Giardini Naxos to stay in

Hello

Looking for advice. Hard to tell from maps but am trying to figure out where to stay in Giardini Naxos. We are a family of 3 ( 16 yr old daughter) and like to be able to walk to a good variety of restaurants and a (preferably sandy) beach. We don't care for noisy nightlife. So should we be looking at the Recanati area or further north on the bay above the promontory that sticks out? Or is the town small enough that it doesn't matter where we stay? We will have a car but prefer to walk to restaurants in the evenings.

Think we prefer to stay in Giardini rather than Taormina due to cost and parking!

Any tips or advice gratefully received as haven't been to Sicily before. Thanks.

What's the town like?

Looking to possibly (Covid depending obviously) go in October I know it's out of season but is the town nice? Haven't visited this part of Italy before so any information the area would be great, would rather avoid hiring a car if possible.

Weekly parking in Levanto

We need to leave our car in Levanto for six nights in mid September. I need possible places to reserve and even prepay for parking. Someone said that some hotels offer parking overnight? We won’t be staying in Levanto, just leaving our car. Thanks in advance.

Itinerary Advice

Hello Friendly Travelers!

We will be in Florene from September 15th - September 19th. Although we are staying in Florence, we are allocating 1 full day for more "tourist" sites. We have been to Florence previously and saw the Uffizi (although somewhat quickly), Accademia, and climbed to the top of the Duomo. This time around we are going with a couple friend of ours who have not been to Florence, but also open to whatever (one is more into museums than the other). That all being said...

Initially I was trying to decide with whether to go back to the Uffizi or to do the Palace Pitti and the Boboli Gardens. I ultimately decided on the Palace and the Boboli because I have not yet seen it and our friends our open. 1. Does anyone have any thoughts on this?

.2. I have now realized that the gardens open at 8:15 AM but the Palace does not open until 1:30 PM (I believe). As I really want to make the most of our day, I am wondering, 1. How long does one need at the gardens? and 2. Could we potentially do the gardens in the morning, walk over and do the duomo and grab lunch and then walk back to do the Palace around 2? I know it is kind of non-sensical to walk back and forth, but it really is not that far and we are into the additional "exercise." Again, thoughts on this would be very helpful.

How to travel to countryside without a car (taxi prices)

I won't be travelling for about a year, but I am already excited and thinking about a solo trip back to Italy. Ideally, I would like to start my vacation relaxing in the Tuscan or Umbria countryside. I am thinking outside of either Lucca or Cortona or anywhere in between. (I'm not fussy, I love the Italian countryside and am just looking for peace, hills and beauty so I know that could be anywhere!) And I would like to do this mainly by train, and without driving myself (I don't want to rent a car). So my initial question then is.... if I fly into Italy, take a train to the nearest small town to where I would be staying, is it expensive to get a taxi to drive maybe 20km or so to a location outside of that small town. Also, any recommendations on what small town country side I should focused on? I know it's not much to go on, but any advice would be appreciated!

Hilltop town help! 2 or 3 days which ones should we go to?

We have 2 or 3 days for some hilltop towns. Out of these which would be the top 4 or 5 must see?

Cortona

Spello

Civita di bagnoregio

Orvieto

Pienza

San gimignano

Volterra

We don’t want a big town like Siena. From my research they seem to be the top seven in the area unless I missed one and if I did could you please let me know.

The ones I was thinking about seeing are

Cortona

Civitia di bagnoregio

Orvieto

San gimignano

Volterra

We tend to move fast depending on the size of the town. Maybe this is too many for the 2 maybe 3 days?

We just don’t wanna make the mistake of seeing too many towns that are too similar we really want to see different looking towns if that makes sense.

Sardina. Snorkling, cosy village, accessable beaches. Where?

I am going two weeks to Sardinia week 30/31 with my family (kids 11 and 17). We want to stay two different places that needs a pool. Not hotel, but cosy places (Airbnb ect). The area must be close to good beaches for snorkling, but it has to be accessable by car. We cant do long hikes with our 11 years boy.

Which area of Sardinia can you recommend out there ?

Keywords

• Want to stay a cosy place with pool in a nice small town where we by foot can visit small reastaurants ect.

• Not to far from good beaches. We hire a car, but we don’t want to drive more than an hour to reach beaches ect.

• Good beaches, with good opportunities to snorkel (not only sand 😊)

• Which area og Sardinia is best. East, northeast, south….?

Thanks 😊
