I’m looking at pcr test needed to return to Canada from Florence. What would this be called in Italian please? There are a few options but I’m not sure which one. I’m on the Synlab site.

PCR covid-19 test in Italy - Synlab - How we did it

We used Synlab for our PCR Covid-19 test in Italy. Can highly recommend Synlab.

We had our test done at 10am in the morning, and received our test results at 7pm the same day. We booked our test appointments 2 days ahead at a location near a larger city. Each test cost us 60 EUR, which was 50 EUR for the test plus 10 EUR for an English translation of the test results. We used the website locate.synlab.it to identify Synlab's lab locations.

The most cumbersome part was booking the appointments. To book the appointments, we used Synlab's iOS app. It worked, but it took a couple of tries till we got the accounts set up correctly, so we could book the appointments. At the test site, we received instructions on how to access our test results from a dedicated website. We downloaded the results as PDF documents from that dedicated site, and saved the PDFs on our phones.

Synlab's iOS app showed all open test spots. The website showed many of the locations to be fully booked, which they were not. The lab experience and speed was excellent. The iOS app and website experience was ok, once one knows how to navigate it.

This was August 2021. Hope this helps someone.

Is the eMed Binax Now an accepted antigen test?

Does any one know if the self-administered rapid antigen test provided on line from eMed/Binax now is accepted by Italian authorities? This is a swab based test and from what I have read on the Italian Government web site, the rapid antigen test must be swab based. This is the test accepted by US authorities for travel and promoted by most US airlines for convenience. It would be great to know if Italy will accept this too.

What happens if you test positive while in Rome?

I am a US citizen and will be traveling to Rome with my adult son (18) in a few days. We are both double vaccinated (Pfizer). With the rise of the Delta variant my concern has heightened.

My question is on a very practical level. If you test positive the day before your return flight I know you won't be able to board but where can you stay and get food?

Can you get an Airbnb?

Can you leave for food?

How long do you need to isolate? Do you register with Italian authorities?

If one of us tests negative will they be subject to mandatory quarantine?

Does anyone have a link to Italian guidelines for these situations?

Many thanks!

Do I need a test? (<36h stay)

Hello,

I will arrive in Malpensa ar 1 o’clock in the morning and will have my flight to my home country on the same day, at 21:00 but from Bergamo.

In this case, some arr saying that for less than 36h of stay I do not need to make any test, just to fill that passegner form.

My stay in Italy it’s even less than 24h. Do I really need a test? My airline told me to check the country official information sources, but there isn’t specified at transit section if I need to stay in the same airport or not. It’s just about those 36h.

Thank you!

Molecular/ PCR/ antigen tests

I have a flight to Rome in a couple weeks on United. The website states I need a Molecular/PCR/Antigen test done 48 hrs prior. Silly question but does that mean I can get a rapid test? I’m just so nervous that they won’t take the results and I’ll be denied going.

Fiumicno Covid Test Times

We have a 11:55 flight back to the US on 24 September. We went through the testing in June at FCO, and we found it simple and not so time consuming (30 minutes total). We were thinking about getting tested at the Red Cross Termini site, but the lines both days have been soooo long. We want to stay in Rome our last day as long as we can, so we’d like to test in the morning before our 11:55 flight. Can anyone give us a heads up on testing lines and length of time for process in the morning? We’d tested at 14:00 the last time , and it wasn’t that busy. We don’t want any surprises when we show up. Thanks!

Do I need PCR/HAT test when returning from Greece

Hello

We would like to go to Greece last 10 days in June and ask for yours help. My question is:

1. do I need a PCR or HAT negative test for the return flight from Preveza to Italy. We will fly with Volotea. I'm a resident of Slovenia. After landing at the airport I will pick up my car at the parking and driving back to Slovenia.

2. do I need any test before flying to Greece to show to the airline representative at Venice airport?

I know that that I must log in to the Italian application before entering Italy at departure and arrival.

Kind regards

Ales

PCR or Antigen test to leave Italy

I was told on a post on here last night from someone who travelled back from Italy last week that you had to have a PCR test (and only that) to be able to leave Italy.

That a rapid antigen test was not sufficient and people were turned away from flights back to England .

I can not find anything about this online. I have tried ringing the Italian covid hotline and they say they can't understand English!!! I'm really stuck with what to do as I have already arranged return tests at Naples airport 3 hours before flight and I am worried this won't be enough.

PCR COVID test needed to return to Canada

Italian Villages

I'm interested in taking a full day bus tour from Siena or Florence to the Italian countryside villages and then walking around on my own. I'm not interested in wine tours or meals. What are my best tour options for visiting 3 or 4 villages in a day via bus?
