Intercity Trains Schedule

Hi guys,

I am thinking whether it is worth trying visiting Syracuse this July or leave it for next year (2022).

I would fly from Toronto, Canada to Rome and then take a train to Syracuse.

Would you be helpful with a few questions?

1) Would Sicily or Syracuse allow for vaccinated foreign tourists visits starting in July?

2) I checked train schedule from Rome Termini to Syracuse (italiarail), and there are no connections at the beginning of July (10-12), while there are available trains to book in August.

Are there any restrictions for train transportation in July vs August?

3) Would you expect that crowds are less this year, or it is business as usual?

We will be Italy for 2 weeks. We will be traveling from Rome to Sienna (one day), Florence , Venice and back to Rome. Is it better to get a pass for the trains for the duration or buy the train tickets individually? Thank you.

Just noticed there is a train strike on Sunday, FYI

“Trains and local transportation personnel will be on strike! Trains for 24 hours starting from 21:00 on June 20th. Local transportation for 24 hours with different starting times depending on the specific location (no further details are available). Please check with your ticket office whether this will affect your journey.”

I see on a lot of train tickets you can use it up to 4 hours. Is this true for all regional trains? I can’t seem to find that on my one ticket. Thanks

At the risk of sounding naive, are Italian trains limiting capacity now? We were planning on purchasing our train tickets once in the country but wonder will those tickets be limited? Should we purchase in advance? All responses much appreciated.

Hi, what are the travelling options from Augusta port to Ortigia? Is there a train station close to the port? Do i have to stop at Syracuse first? From where can i find the train schedule? Thanks

my mom and I are planning a trip to the Amalfi coast. we are debating if we should fly direct from New York to Rome and then get a private transfer or do the train to Naples or if we should take a connecting flights from New York and fly into Naples and from there get a transfer. Which would be easier?

I have read that one of the corona measures in Italy is that the capacity of the trains (and maybe other public transport) is limited to 50% of full capacity. This also applies to the regional trains ?

I'm planning to be in Liguria next month an want to walk around Cinque Terre and visit by train from La Spezia, so can start in the morning at one village/station and end at another village/station. Maybe also take a regional train into Genoa.

We will be traveling to Italy in August and are planning to take the train from Milan to Vicenza.

After staying in Vicenza for 5 nights we want to go to Rome from Vicenza by train again.

From what I understand I should reserve these tickets in advance and I don't know which website to use to do so.

Can someone tell me the right website? Do I use the same website for both these tickets?

I know there are high speed trains from Venice to Florence but every website I try and book through only shows trains with 2 changes and 5 hours long. My travel plans are for Oct 9
