Ferragosto - 15th August

We are visiting Treviso on Sunday 15th August, will the shops and restaurants be closed, or will it be full of Italians celebrating (as already some restaurants wont be open).

Also what can I expect with regards to celebrating Ferragosto in the centre of Treviso (as we don't have a car)? Thanks

Are tourist attractions and restaurants open?

I am in the process of planning a vacation for my self and 2 adult daughters. We all have received the COVID vaccine. We would like to travel to the south of Italy, Will tourist attractions be open? can we travel freely from one province to another? Are restaurants open?

I will also be visiting my elderly aunt while there, so as of now we meet the criteria for entry into Italy.

Can not make my mind up!!

Help! My granddaughter is studying in Florence from August -December 15th. My husband and I are taking this opportunity to visit her and travel some throughout Italy. I have studied and have an itinerary of places to visit from Rome to the Dolomites. We love views and sightseeing. I can not decide if it’s best to go the first two weeks in October or the first two weeks in December when all the Christmas markets are open. My main concern is weather….mainly rain. Decided on December but read several places it can rain a lot in December. First time visiting Italy. Thanks for any input!

Supporting local Venetians

I’ve asked a lot of questions and everyone has provided great recommendations on things to do and their favorite spots or places to eat. We’ve got the majority of our trip planned.

However….we read that Venetians have been leaving and that many shops and restaurants are run by foreigners / companies coming from the mainland.

We’d like, as much as possible to support Venetian owned businesses and restaurants. Do you have recommendations for restaurants or shops? We are staying in San Polo and will primarily be there, Dorsodouro and San Marco.

It is just our preference to support locals if we can.

Restaurants in Rome

Looking for some recommendations on fine dining in Rome. Booked Ad Hoc based on the recommendations but would like a couple more essential eateries in the city. Below is a list of some of the places we were considering for our trip in August (La Pergola will be closed when we travel). Thanks!

T2 Malpensa closed or not doing easyjet?

I got my easyjet booking confirmation for August 2021, and it says T1 but it has always been T2 in the past.

I am nervous to book my car hire pickup and dropoff (dropoff is early) from T1 in case it switches back to T2 in August.

Any ideas what is happening with T2?

Trains from Rome to Syracuse in July 2021

Hi guys,

I am thinking whether it is worth trying visiting Syracuse this July or leave it for next year (2022).

I would fly from Toronto, Canada to Rome and then take a train to Syracuse.

Would you be helpful with a few questions?

1) Would Sicily or Syracuse allow for vaccinated foreign tourists visits starting in July?

2) I checked train schedule from Rome Termini to Syracuse (italiarail), and there are no connections at the beginning of July (10-12), while there are available trains to book in August.

Are there any restrictions for train transportation in July vs August?

3) Would you expect that crowds are less this year, or it is business as usual?

Thanks.

Rapid tests from Phrarmacy after 6th of August

Hello!

We are heading to Italy in begging of August to Rome and Positano (from EU country) and now we are reading that there will be changes after 6th of August and now it's needed to do test in order to get into museums and etc. Does it involve also regional, public transports?

Have question, does anyone knows if rapid test which you can by in pharmacy is enough? Or you need to do test in laboratory?

Thank you in advance!

Bergamo at night

Solo female travel in Sicily

I’m considering a week in Sicily in August. I’m a 34 year old single female traveler and would like to stay in one place the entire time as I’ll have to be working some during the day - I’ll be staying in an Airbnb. I love the ocean and love being by the coast, would like somewhere walkable and not too remote, and somewhere with enough restaurants, cafes, and people to keep me entertained for a week. Any suggestions are appreciated!

Where to stay, family with toddler

We are planning a one-week trip to Sardinia with our 2.5 year old daughter late August. Looking for a small hotel or serviced villa/apartment:

- with pvt beach or at walking distance to a beautiful beach

- with a pool ideally

- not too crowded with tourists

- in a cozy city/village offering easy walks and hikes (not too hilly) and proximity to restaurants

- toddler-friendly activities close-by

Any recommendations on the area /place to stay?
